Yesterday was nice and relaxing, with no miles on the bike. We mostly just took the down day and hung around the AirBnB and the town. I spent a good chunk of the day learning how to edit video footage in DaVinci Resolve. The process seems approachable now after watching several YouTube videos. That’s the mechanical process of how to do the cuts, and what all the various functions of the applacation allow people to do. That seems learnable. The part that I still don’t have much of a grasp on is the creative part of putting together the footage into something that approaches being interesting to watch.

The process of creating videos is way more involved than photography from what I understand at this point. And, right now we have so much new coming at us on the riding part that trying to think about capturing what would make good footage is the least of our concerns. As the riding part becomes more and more second nature, I’m hoping the creative parts will have time to develop. We have captured some footage. But it is mostly of us just riding. No B-Roll, no intros, no talking to the camera while riding. And most of all, no thought ahead of time of what type of story I may want to tell. I can see how the full process would be very creative. I just hope I have space for it as the planning and riding the motorcycles part get more natural and second nature.
