I don’t yet know how our property and the surrounding areas did last night during the flooding in Pagosa Springs. It is still too early to see much on our cameras and most reports are from last night. From what it was looking like it was going to be bad, even worse than the earlier flooding. Not much we can do on the road but hope that the recovery doesn’t take too long.

Yesterday was our only full day in Memphis. We went to the National Civil Rights museum, which was built at the location where Dr. Martin Luther King was assassinated. The museum was impressive, telling the story of African Americans, from their forced journey to the Americas, through all the struggles and resistance during each era. The depth and breadth of the exhibits provided a level to the stories way beyond what you thought you learned in school. Our time there was a valuable way to spend the afternoon. And reminds me that this country has been through some very dark days.
